Founded in 1995 by Jim McIlwain, Blue Sky Rain was originally a landscape maintenance company. Jim was met with quick success working in both residential and commercial properties. He founded his company on principals of always doing the right thing and taking care of the customer while maintaining a fair profit for sustaining his business. Although his focus at that time was landscape maintenance, Jim began his training in the irrigation business. Realizing the many challenges of small business, Jim went to work in the corporate world for a couple years to build his experience in customer service, sales, management, leadership, and logistics, while at the same time continuing to add to his knowledge and training in the irrigation business. In 2003, Jim returned to his love of the green industry and his desire to grow a company from the ground up founding an irrigation company to service the sprinkler needs of Landscapers and End Users in The Greater Birmingham Area. Moving to 100% irrigation work really paid off and new relationships were formed with Landscape Designers who enjoy subcontracting to Jim for expertise, professionalism, trained crews, and good basic business practices and ethics. Landscapers know that Jim's team will make them look good by properly watering their projects for years of healthy plants and customer enjoyment. With his fast-paced growth and even greater success, Jim believed his company needed a new look, more style and fresh logo to better illustrate that this company is 100% dedicated to specializing solely in providing the best irrigation solutions in all of Alabama, so in 2006, Jim and Holly, his wife and business partner, formed their corporation and named their irrigation company Blue Sky Rain Sprinkler Specialists.  Due to demand from Landscapers, they added Outdoor Landscape Lighting to their service offering and they love it.  A fresh and fun service offering, they bring the same excitement, quality, and perfectionist standards to their Landscape Lighting Service that they do their Irrigation Systems.
